Margaret J. Powers, 83, of Troutville, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019.
She was born in St. Albans, Vt., the daughter of the late Walter and Alma English. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Oswald (Ozzie) Edward Powers; and two brothers, Robert and Edward English, and is survived by her son, Matthew Powers; daughter, Andrea Holdren; and two grandchildren, Josh and Julia.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey’s East Chapel. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Fincastle with the Rev. Willis Logan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church or the Blue Ridge Friends of the Library, 28 Avery Road, Roanoke, 24012. Arrangements by Oakey’s East Chapel, 977-3909.
