Greenfield Elementary Field Day

On May 17 Greenfield Elementary hosted their annual Field Day. This year’s activities were held in honor of PE teacher Greg Bowyer who passed away in December of last year. The fun-filled day included games organized by parent volunteers, Popsicle treats and a dance party in the gym led by DJ Russel Prusack from radio station K92. Field Day started with a short ceremony unveiling a stone bench with the phrase “People Climb Everest” carved into the seat. The bench was donated by Ryan and Mindy Boitnott of Boulder Designs to honor Bowyer, who often repeated the phrase to encourage students and colleagues to persevere in the face of adversity. Members of the Bowyer family attended the ceremony, greeted the student body and passed out bracelets embossed with the same phrase. The day was filled with joy and laughter and was truly a celebration of the life of a well-loved member of the Greenfield community.
