Jackson Crawford, a rising freshman at Lord Botetourt High School, was a member of the 14-and-under TEAM USA basketball team that competed in the 2019 World Games. The games were held June 17-24 in Klagenfurt, Austria.
TEAM USA won its first five games over host Austria, Holland/Netherlands, Mongolia twice and Hungary. That put the USA in the gold medal game against Slovakia/Serbia, where the US lost by five points. TEAM USA was awarded the silver medal.
Crawford, a point guard, averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 assists per game in the tournament. He started all six games and led the team in assists and was second in scoring.
Crawford has been invited to return to TEAM USA next summer for the tournament in Argentina.
