Botetourt Rotary Board Member Jeff Stritesky, District 110% Award winner Angie Anderson, and Area 6 District Governor Marc Hudson at the District Convention at The Homestead.

During the March 16District Convention of Rotary International, Rotary Area 6 Governor Marc Hudson announced that Botetourt Rotary member Angie Anderson was selected to receive the District 110% Award. This year’s Rotary International District Convention was held March 15-17 at The Homestead in Hot Springs.

The 110% Award is presented during the annual District Conference to a Rotary member from each area who has excelled in carrying out Rotary’s mission. Selection criteria include working to increase humanitarian service, working to improve Rotary’s public recognition, and giving 110% effort to grow and strengthen the member’s local Rotary club by contributing to the quality of programs and service projects, engaging club members and exceptional performance of committee assignments. In addition, each nominee must have been a Rotary member for at least two years, held leadership positions in their local club and be on track to be selected for further leadership roles. Each Rotary Area Governor nominates one 110% Award candidate.

In 2018, Angie helped coordinate nine service or fundraising events in Botetourt County. “Angie is full of great ideas, and she is enthusiastic to support any and all community-based events,” said Don Nichols, Botetourt Rotary Club’s Immediate Past President. “Angie participated in every fundraiser sponsored by the Botetourt Rotary Club in 2018 and was instrumental in helping our club achieve a very successful year,” Nichols concluded.

In addition to her work on local service and fundraising projects, Angie maintains the Botetourt Rotary Club’s Facebook page.

“The Botetourt Rotary Club is proud of Angie’s service and the fact that she has been recognized for her outstanding work,” said Lethia Hammond, Botetourt Rotary President-elect.

The Botetourt Rotary Club meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at noon at Ballast Point located at 555 International Drive in Daleville,. Guests and new members are welcome.
