Students of Read Mountain Middle School celebrated their summer reading successes on Friday, Sept. 6. Students who read and reviewed one book were invited to attend a Kona Ice Party in the library where they ate, socialized, and played games. Ninety-six students participated in total. Students who read and reviewed two or more books attended a Reading Rocks Adventure at the YMCA where they did a craft, swam, and played basketball. Fifty-five students were involved in this adventure. Teachers said they were proud of RMMS students for continuing to read over the summer, and gave a big thank you to Kona Ice and the Botetourt YMCA for helping to sponsor the summer reading celebrations.
