Lord Botetourt junior lineman Colston Powers has officially committed to Appalachian State University. Powers accepted a full football scholarship to play for the Mountaineers.
“Appy State” is a member of the Sun Belt Conference and the school is located in Boone, N.C. The Mountaineers were 13-1 last year, including a 45-38 win over the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns in the Sun Belt championship and a 31-17 win over UAB in the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on December 21.
In other LB news, senior linebacker Cam Moss has accepted a scholarship to play at West Virginia State and sophomore Gunner Givens has been offered a scholarship by South Carolina.
“Gunner is the first Lord Botetourt player to ever receive an offer from the Southeastern Conference in football,” noted LB coach Jamie Harless.
