Virginia Tech Men’s Basketball vs. Pitt

Jim Barley, a familiar face to James River fans, was recognized at the Virginia Tech basketball game against Pittsburgh last Saturday at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg. Barley has been a Hokie Club member for over 60 years and a season ticket holder for the Tech basketball games for 45 years. He’s also been a football season ticket holder for 40 years. Jim was a long time football official in the local association and he’s one of James River High School’s biggest fans, attending all sports and serving as a public address announcer for some. Here he waves to the crowd after being presented a commemorative basketball as James River grads Jeremy Sink(left) and Jim’s granddaughter, Hannah John, look on. And, to top off the day, the Hokies took a 67-57 win over the visiting Panthers.
