The Botetourt Kiwanis Club sponsored a Vegas-style magic show at Attic Productions on Friday, March 6. Brian Ledbetter and his assistant Amanda amazed a crowd of 200 people with illusions involving levitation, sleight-of-hand, and bowling balls. All of the proceeds benefit the charitable activities of the Kiwanis Club, with an emphasis on children.

During the show’s intermission, Club President Ed Lynch presented a check to the Eastern Appalachian Branch of Teen Challenge. Natalie Marshall accepted the check on behalf of Teen Challenge.
Upcoming Kiwanis-sponsored events include a booth at the upcoming Freedom Fest at New Freedom Farm, a golf tournament at Ashley on May 15 to support the club’s scholarships and a recycling event at LBHS on May 30. The Botetourt Kiwanis Club meets each Friday at 7 a.m. at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club. Further information is available from any club member or by visiting www.kiwanisclubofbotetourt.org.
