The Catawba Valley Farmers Market will open again on Thursday, May 7. This is the 11th season for the market, which is held each Thursday under the picnic shelter at the Catawba Community Center on Catawba Creek Road (Rt. 779) just down from the Catawba Post Office. The market is open from 3 to 6:30 p.m., rain or shine.
Spaces are still available for full-time and part-time vendors, with an emphasis on those who produce fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses and goat-milk products. A limited number of spaces are allotted to craft vendors.
On May 7, the market will invite additional artisans and craftsmen to participate in Art Day at the Market.
All produce and other food items must be grown or produced locally, within a 100-mile radius of Catawba. All crafts must be handmade, also by local vendors.
Anyone interested in selling at the Catawba Valley Farmers Market, full-time, part-time or on Art at the Market Day, should contact Ann Harrell, Market Manager, at 540-864-5913 or catawbafarmersmarket@outlook.com.
