The American Red Cross is closely monitoring the coronavirus disease, COVID-19. The Red Cross urgently needs blood drives to run as planned and donors of all blood types to give now to prevent any potential shortages during this public health emergency.
An upcoming blood drive is this Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Church of the Transfiguration, 7624 Roanoke Road, just south of Fincastle.
The Red Cross stresses that donating is a safe process and people should not hesitate to give blood in their local blood drives.
