Four Lord Botetourt High graduates were in the midst of playing collegiate baseball when the pandemic struck and wiped out the rest of the season.
Ryan Fralin is a senior outfielder on the Concord University team. He started all 10 games in the outfield for the Mountain Lions, including a game against Wingate where he had three hits and drove in three runs.
Fralin was looking forward to a big season after earning second team All-Mountain East Conference honors as a junior. He was named the MEC Player of the Week once and NCBWA Regional Hitter of the Week during the 2019 season, when he batted .387.
Three other former Cavaliers were on Old Dominion Athletic Conference rosters, but weren’t getting as much playing time. Caleb Franklin is a sophomore infielder at the University of Lynchburg, Jordan Brake is a sophomore catcher at Eastern Mennonite University and Logan Wood is a sophomore catcher at Shenandoah University.
