On Monday, May 11, the Buchanan Town Council designated May as Business Appreciation Month in Buchanan as a salute to the town’s business community. As a note of appreciation to the 70 businesses located within the town, Town Council noted the pivotal role businesses play in strengthening the community by embracing job creation and innovative technologies, and by employing a diverse workforce to preserve the economic well being of all of the citizens. Town Council also noted that area businesses provide essential employment opportunities, provide local tax revenues, and make other significant contributions to the community promoting educational opportunities for children and a variety of activities, thereby increasing the quality of life of citizens.
