A year ago, May 28, 2019 I began my tenure with the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce. The way things seem to be changing recently, it seems more like three or five. My biggest take away from the past year is how overwhelmingly supportive the entire community has been.
People have stopped me in restaurants and other businesses (remember going out to eat?) thanking me or congratulating the chamber on the events we’re doing and the way we’re advocating for our community. Thank you for recognizing us.
The Chamber is an advocacy organization. We advocate for our member businesses to assist our county (and surrounding areas as we can) to grow in a positive way where all businesses benefit. Let us know how we can advocate for your business!
We had our Meeting of the Membership in June (coming this July), annual Gala dinner, Business Roundtable, a fun Halloween event, the State of the County forum, and then we went virtual with community forums with Rep. Ben Cline and Del. Terry Austin. We appreciate their support of the Chamber!
In a couple weeks is our postponed golf classic at Botetourt Swim & Golf. We hope you’ll join us for officially sanctioned “socially distant” golf following current guidelines! We’re looking forward to meeting in more “normal” ways soon.
Join your Chamber in supporting our local Botetourt County businesses as we pull out of this.
I thank you for your support! Here’s to the next year.
