Jordan Pinkard, a James River High School graduate, has been named as the assistant principal of James River High School for the 2020-2021 school year.
“I am blessed to have had the opportunity to attend Botetourt County schools as a student and to serve as a math teacher at James River for the last six years. During that time, I have experienced firsthand how supportive and generous parents, residents, and businesses in the community are of our schools. I am excited for the opportunity to further those relationships in order to continue providing students the experiences necessary to be competitive in the 21st century,” he said.
Pinkard earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics, a graduate degree in curriculum and instruction, and an education specialist in education leadership from Virginia Tech.
He started teaching at William Fleming High School in 2012 and joined the James River math department in 2014. During his time at the school, he has served as the mathematics department chair.
Pinkard will assume his new role as assistant principal on July 1.
