John Edward Norvell Sr., 82, of 23177 Botetourt Road, Eagle Rock, passed away on July 6, 2020.
He was born in Iron Gate to the late James (Horse) and Bessie Norvell. He was preceded in death by his brother, Owen Norvell of Maryland.
John is survived by his wife of 60 plus years, Lorain; two sons, John Edward Norvell Jr. of Iron Gate, and Steven Loyd Norvell and wife, Christina of Clifton Forge; two beautiful granddaughters, whom he thought the world of… Nicole Norvell-Consarga and husband, Preston of West Virginia, and Gabrielle Renaye Norvell of Alexandria, Va.; an adorable great-grandson, Preston Jr. (Little P); numerous nieces and nephews.
John worked for C&O Railroad for 37 years, retiring in 2000. He loved to hunt and fish before his health deteriorated in 2012. Before his railroad life, John graduated from the “old” Central High School in Low Moor. John had some fun and enjoyable reunions with his classmates.
