McKinley (Mack) Aaron Nelson of Troutville passed away Sunday morning July 19, 2020.
Born May 14, 1949, Mack grew up in Elgood, W.Va., a son of the late Benjamin and Frances Akers Nelson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Paulette, and two brothers, A.C. and Roger Nelson.
He is survived by one son, Robert A. Nelson, and one daughter, Linda K. Nelson, and seven grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Tina Nelson, and Terry and Jackie Nelson; five sisters and brothers-in -law, Gerry and Carl Taylor, Ada and David Taylor, Ruby and Wayne Keith, Julie Russell, and Jackie and Lynn Blankenship.
Mack worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and helped to build many of the roads and shopping malls around the area. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a jack-of-all trades and could fix most anything. He loved to watch the cattle and wildlife along the back roads.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Simpson Funeral Home.
