On Wednesday evening, July 14, motorists should watch for lane closures on US 220 near Interstate 81 Exit 150 in Botetourt County.
Beginning at 8 p.m., the left lane of northbound and southbound US 220 will be closed under the I-81 overpass while crews perform bridge work.
In addition, traffic headed southbound on US 220 will not be able to access the northbound I-81 on-ramp toward Lexington. Motorists going southbound on US 220 to northbound I-81 will be detoured to US 11 northbound to Route 640 (Brughs Mill Road) and then onto northbound I-81 at Exit 156.
The lane closures and detour are expected to be in place through 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 15. Signs and message boards will be in place advising motorists of the lane closures and the detour.
