It was a big day for the Lord Botetourt football team last Thursday as eight Cavaliers officially declared to play in collegiate ranks beginning with the 2021 fall season. The Cavaliers assembled in the LB gym with masks and social distancing in effect due to the coronavirus pandemic. That didn’t stop the Cavaliers from making some nice comments about LB head coach Jamie Harless and his staff as Harless handed the microphone to each student after wiping it off between remarks. Here, the Cavs are social distanced (use group photo) in the gym. Individuals include (designate individuals how you arrange them) Appalachian State signee Kyle Arnholt with parents Brian and Linda; Appalachian State signee Troy Everett with parents Sam and Stephanie; Appalachian State signee Colston Powers with parents Shane and Denise; Charleston State University signee Bryson Oliver with parents Richie and Carly; Army signee Hunter Rice with parents Don and Leann; Bluefield State signee Frank Sawyers with brother Gage and father Scott; and James Madison University signee Zach Horton with parents Bennie and Kim. An eighth signee, Xavier Stephens, was unable to attend. He’s the son of Tim and Stephanie Stephens and he’s headed to Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.
