The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Saturday, Jan. 23, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Church of the Transfiguration in Fincastle.
When donors give blood by January 31, they will automatically be entered for a chance to win a Super Bowl LVI getaway to Los Angeles for them and a guest. The package includes two tickets to Super Bowl LVI, entry to the official NFL Tailgate, tickets to Super Bowl Experience, found-trip airfare to Los Angeles, three nights of hotel accommodations (February 4-7, 2022), plus a $500 gift card for expenses. The winner will have the opportunity to experience the first Super Bowl in SoFi Stadium.
Plus, the blood drive also has a new opportunity to help patients fighting COVID-19. All blood donations collected at the blood drive will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies. If a donation tests positive for the antibodies, plasma from that donation may help coronavirus patients in need of convalescent plasma transfusions.
