The Botetourt Rotary Club inducted Botetourt County Administrator Gary Larrowe as a new member during the February 17 meeting.
Larrowe began serving as the Botetourt County administrator in January 2016. “We look forward to having Gary join us in our Rotary activities as we work together to serve Botetourt County,” said Angie Anderson, Rotary Club president.
In 1990, while serving as a faculty member at the Virginia Tech Extension Office, Larrowe participated in a six-week Rotary Group Study Exchange to Argentina. In addition, he served as a Kellogg Fellow in International Community Development. From 1999-2002, he worked on USAID projects in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Mexico, and the West Indies.
“Gary’s work and experiences embody the mission of Rotary International,” stated Lethia Hammond, president-elect. “That mission is to serve others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders,” Hammond explained.
The Botetourt Rotary Club meets each first and third Wednesday at noon at Bellacino’s in Daleville. Meeting participants practice safe social distancing and mask requirements. For anyone wishing to attend the meeting virtually, a WebEx link is available upon request.
