The annual meeting of the Botetourt County Historical Society, Inc. has been scheduled for Thursday, April 29 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the VFW Hall at the intersection of 220 and Country Club Road (4902 Roanoke Road). The society will conduct necessary business and hear reports on ongoing projects. Weldon Martin will present a program on Gen. James Breckinridge and his history in the county.
Historical Society members and interested community members are invited to attend. According to a Historical Society spokesperson, “We invite anyone who is interested in preserving and promoting the history of Botetourt County to consider membership in the Botetourt County Historical Society, Inc.” An individual or family membership is available for $25 annually.
