Buchanan District Supervisor Amy White recognized Kate Lawrence with a Distinguished Alumni Award from the Virginia Western Community College Education Foundation at the Board of Supervisors meeting. Lawrence is Botetourt County’s Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent for the Virginia Cooperative Extension.
“I’ve watched Kate grow as a leader, as an agriculturalist, as an Extension Agent, as a farmer— and I’m proud to say that she’s my friend,” White stated at last week’s meeting in Daleville. “When we went to look at her application, there were numerous letters of support from all realms of Botetourt County supporting this nomination.
White and Carolyn Payne, VWCC Education Foundation representative, presented Lawrence with the award.
