The Botetourt County Board of Supervisors held its July meeting on Tuesday at the Botetourt County Administration Center at Greenfield in Daleville.
At the meeting, the board recognized a new county employee and The Gauntlet award recipients.
The board heard a supplemental appropriation resolution to fund projects not completed in FY 21 in the FY 22 budget. Additionally, there was a presentation of the Social Services annual report.
The meeting featured a public hearing on a proposed Comprehensive Plan and Map amendment regarding a future road connection from Tinker Mountain Road underneath the I-81 bridge to Route 11.
Public hearings saw the requests for the rezoning in the Buchanan, Blue Ridge, Valley, and Fincastle Districts recommended by the Planning Commission. The commission also requested conditional approval for a Special Exception Permit for a bed and breakfast in Buchanan on Mount Joy Road.
