Back-to-school dates for Botetourt County middle and high schools include:
Central Academy Middle School
Student schedules and the summer newsletter were mailed on July 15. If your student did not receive their schedule, contact Central Academy.
On Monday, August 9, CAMS will conduct the Sixth Grade Transition Day beginning at 10 a.m. Students should be dropped off at CAMS at 10 a.m. Parents are invited back at 1:30 p.m. for a meeting and to pick up the student. Lunch will be provided for students. Any questions should be directed to CAMS.
Read Mountain Middle School
On Thursday, July 29, from 1-4 p.m., all RMMS students will have the opportunity to pick up their schedules, pay fees, and receive help with back-to-school forms in Parent-Portal.
On Tuesday, August 10, sixth grade RMMS students will be coming in 30-minute increments for orientation tours beginning at 9 a.m. Students were mailed invitations with their designated tour time on July 19. Seventh and eighth grade students who did not pick up their schedules on July 29 will have the opportunity to pick up schedules from 1-2 p.m. on August 10 via a drive-thru pick-up.
James River High School
On Thursday, August 5, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., JRHS upperclassmen (10th, 11th, and 12th graders) will have the opportunity to pick up schedules, pay fees, make parking spots selections, receive help with back-to-school forms in ParentPortal, ask questions, etc. Upperclassmen unable to attend that day may come on Monday, August 9, from 2-5 p.m.
On Monday, August 9 at 1 p.m., ninth-graders will have freshmen orientation. Freshmen should be dropped off before 1 p.m. Parents are welcome back at 3 p.m. (after orientation) for an opportunity to receive help with back-to-school forms in ParentPortal, pay fees, ask questions, etc.
Lord Botetourt High School
On Thursday, July 29 from 12-3 p.m., and Tuesday, August 3 from 3-6 p.m., LBHS students may pick up schedules, complete a parking application, and pick up their 2020-2021 yearbook. Parents will be able to complete forms in ParentPortal, pay fees, ask questions, join the PTSA, etc.
On Tuesday, August 10 from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m., the Freshman Transition Program will be held. More information will be sent to parents via the School Messenger system, posted to the school’s website, and announced on the school’s social media pages.
