American Legion Post 240 will conduct an awards dinner on Thursday, Aug. 5 at the VFW Hall located at the corner of Rt. 220 and Country Club Road, Daleville. The dinner, which will be prepared by Bella Pizza of Troutville and served by Lee Minnix and the Sunshine Girls, will start at 6 p.m.
An awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. to honor the two Boys State participants and the one Girls State participant from Lord Botetourt and the two scholarship winners from James River.
At the end of the ceremony, there will be a brief intermission to allow guests to leave and a brief Post business meeting will be held.
All dues paying members of the American Legion, members of VFW Post 1841 and all other veterans living in the Botetourt County area are invited.
