The Botetourt Titans Pee Wee football team, for ages 8 and under players, will be playing for the valleywide Sandlot Super Bowl championship this Saturday at Salem Stadium. The Pee Wee game is the first of three championship games, with a kickoff time of 10 a.m.
Botetourt pulled out a 20-18 win over Cave Spring last Saturday at Glenvar’s Highlander Stadium to qualify for the championship game. North Roanoke defeated the Salem Wolverines in the other semifinal, 19-0, and will take on the Titans at Salem Stadium.
In the Little Division, for ages 10 and under players, the Botetourt Titans took on second seeded Franklin County last Saturday and dropped a 44-8 decision in a quarterfinal game at Cave Spring’s Bogle Field. Semifinals were Tuesday at Glenvar and the championship is Saturday at noon at Salem Stadium.
The Botetourt Junior team, for ages 12 and under players, dropped out of the tournament late last week. Semifinals for the 12-U tourney were scheduled for Bogle Field Tuesday, with the championship at Salem Stadium Saturday at 2 p.m.
