[SUBMITTED PHOTO]The Botetourt County Rotary Club has donated $1,000 to the Botetourt Longbeards in support of their annual holiday turkey distribution. The Longbeards anticipate distributing as many as a thousand turkey breasts through local food banks to families in the county. This continues a longstanding tradition of holiday distributions by the county Longbeards. They have acknowledged that this donation from the Rotary Club is of major assistance in reaching this year’s goal due to recent price increases by their suppliers. The club’s funds for this donation are a result, in part, of contributions by many county businesses and individuals as sponsors of the First Bank/Bank of Botetourt 5K Race on October 16.
