The Lord Botetourt girls will have a merry Christmas as they head into the holidays with an undefeated record in basketball. The Cavaliers improved to 7-0 with a win at Floyd County on Monday, their final game before Christmas.
Botetourt took a 51-45 win at Floyd, which is always a tough place to play. Taylor Orange led LB with 13 points and six steals while Jada Morgan had 11 points and Brianna Wissemann had 10.
“Despite a slow start in the first and third quarters, we weathered the storm and held on to get a good win on the road,” said coach Renee Favaro.
Botetourt beat two Roanoke County opponents last week, beginning with a 59-36 win at Cave Spring on December 14. Gracie Huffard had 16 and Ally Spangler had 15 in that victory.
Then, on Friday, the girls were back home to host William Byrd and took a 62-25 win. All 10 players on the roster scored, led by Spangler with 14 and Wissemann with 11.
The Cavaliers will return to action on December 30 when they host Abingdon in Daleville.
