Twelfth Night concert organizers ask for continued financial support
Editor:
As many of you might know, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church’s 2022 Twelfth Night Concert has been cancelled. We are planning for a huge comeback in 2023. COVID-19 continues to disrupt our lives and the continued stress has only increased the stress on the Botetourt Food Pantry and funds to pay electric/fuel bills. The focus of our Twelfth Night Concerts has been to collect funds to support the food pantry and the fuel/electric fund administered by the Botetourt Department of Social Services (DSS).
With this in mind, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church asks for your continued support of the organizations that benefit from the Fincastle Community Twelfth Night Charity Concert. This community-based activity has filled a need and made a positive and substantial difference for many individuals and families in the Roanoke Valley, thanks to you. The name, “Twelfth Night,” comes from the Feast of the Epiphany, which celebrates the 12th day after Christmas when the Magi brought gifts to the Christ Child in Bethlehem.
Each year the Twelfth Night charity has presented a concert of free family entertainment for the entire community. We are disappointed by our inability to present a concert and pray that next year we’ll be singing a different song. This year your gifts will go to support The Botetourt Food Pantry, Botetourt County Social Services’ Energy Assistance Program, and the COVID-19 Assistance Program, both administered by Botetourt Social Services. One hundred percent of all donations will benefit these programs.
We appeal to your generosity in this time of pandemic and ask that you please make checks payable to Fincastle Twelfth Night Fund and mail by January 10 to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Attn.: Treasurer, P.O. Box 277, Fincastle, 24090-0277.
We accept credit card donations and bank drafts, too. Visit www.stmarksfincastle.org and click the Donate Button and select 12th Night Program in the drop-down box. The Twelfth Night Fund is a community ministry of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. All gifts are IRS approved as a charitable deduction for tax purposes.
In this time of uncertainty, stay safe and best wishes to you and all whom you hold dear for a special season of joy and remembrance.
