Delores Basham Griffin, 77, died peacefully on Saturday January 22, 2022 at her home in Botetourt County. She was born in Shawsville, Va to the late Junior Robert and Margaret Eva Basham on September 16, 1944.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted and caring husband of 55 years, John William Griffin. Also surviving are her two sons, John Michael and David Scott Griffin; her daughter-in-law, Nicole Griffin; and two granddaughters, Olivia and Meredith Griffin.
After graduating from Shawsville High School in 1962, she attended nursing school. Obtaining her degree in 1966, she worked at Lewis-Gale Hospital as a registered nurse until 1975. She retired from nursing in 1976 to focus on raising her family. Always there for her husband and two sons, she kept a beautiful and loving home.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 26, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Oakey’s East. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, Oakey’s East Chapel with Dr. Rick Via officiating. Interment will follow in the Daleville Cemetery.
