John Trent Clemmer, 86, of Buchanan, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dolly Clemmer; first wife, Joan M. Clemmer; sisters, Nathalie McCullough, Virginia Hall, and Ferrell Amos; brothers, Curtis and Bud Clemmer; and granddaughter, Carlotta Smail.
He is survived by his “wife” of 22 years, Shirley Hood; daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Barry Rhodes, Kathie and Walter Fowler, Cindi-Beth and Greg Lyons; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Bernice Campbell and Patricia Hylton; brother, Phillip (Eleanor) Clemmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Carilion Hospice and all of his Buchanan Baptist Church Family for their loving care during his prolonged illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Woody and Chaplain Seth McCormick officiating. Interment will follow in High Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, at the funeral home.
