The Cregger-Kerr Indoor track at Roanoke College in Salem will be the site of Region track meets in Classes 1 through 4 this weekend, including athletes from both James River and Lord Botetourt.
The meet for Region 2C, including James River, along with Region 1C, 1D and 2D will be held on Friday. Field events begin at 3:30 p.m. with running events to take the gun beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The Region 3D meet, with Lord Botetourt athletes, will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday and will run through an awards ceremony at 3 p.m. The Region 4D meet will be held on Saturday evening.
Lord Botetourt’s girls were third and the boys were fifth in the Blue Ridge District meet, held at Heritage High School on February 5. The Staunton River boys and William Byrd girls won team titles.
Individual champions for the LB girls included Maddie Malue in the 55 hurdles and the 4×400 relay team of Anna Hoover, Karley Burks, Elizabeth Meadows, Falan Peters, Wren Duckworth.
For the boys, DJ Toliver won the shot put.
