Randy Dale DePriest, 70, of 16378 Botetourt Road, Eagle Rock, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Randy was born September 11, 1951 in Clifton Forge to the late Zandy G. and Caroline Feury DePriest.  He was a signal inspector for CSX Transportation and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. He was also a member of Eagle Rock Methodist Church and the Clifton Forge Masonic Lodge #166 A.F.&A.M. He served in the United States Army Reserves and was very patriotic.  He loved history, especially Virginia history, hunting, gardening, and collecting railroad memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Nunley DePriest of Eagle Rock; two daughters, Amanda DePriest of Clifton Forge and Lorie Jamerson of Madison Heights; a son, Forrest DePriest and wife Mary-Kate of Staunton; a stepson, Justin Barnes of Union Hall; a sister, Shanda Carter of Covington; a brother, Zandy D. DePriest and wife Susan of Woodstock; his father-in-law, Frank Nunley of Eagle Rock; 13 grandchildren, Allie, Chance, Cody and Wife Jazmin, Ella, Vivian, Garrett, Reese, Cassidy, Raegan, Logan, Sydney, Grace, and Elise; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 8, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Rev. Ray Sandifer and Cleatus Newcomb officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home with Masonic Rites conducted at 7 p.m. by members of the Clifton Forge Masonic Lodge #166 A.F.&A.M.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA  22116-7023 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
