Thanks for donations to Fincastle fireworks

The 2022 Fourth of July fireworks were a beautiful display. It was put on by Master Display Limited and they did a wonderful job. The weather was perfect without a rain shower. A large group of people came and enjoyed the fireworks.

The Town of Fincastle wishes to thank all who donated to the cost of the fireworks display and to the people who attended it.  Those who donated are Andrew Tunnell, Robert Haymaker, Pam Wiegandt, Brent Hershey, Veterans of Foreign War Post 1841, D.A. and S.R. Gedds, Steven and Leonora Drzymala, Rodney and Mary Layman, Sandra Wolfe, Amitav Hajra and Laura Dytadzia, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Angela Smith, Lauren Weyer, Brittany Thurman,  John Thomas, Scott and Susan Critzer, Fincastle Friends of the Library, Jane Wolfe, Adam Smith, Kaya Peregory, Jay Hipes, Sherry Crickenberger, Angela Coon,  Paul and Terry Tucker,  Fincastle Garden Club, R.D. and Cathy Henderson, Jimmy and Chris Layman, David and Cindy St. Clair, Hi Nicely, Danny and Clara Joyce, David Ware, Paige Ware, Lauren Erickson, Ashley Thomas, John and Joan Boothe and Big Spring Garden Club. We deeply appreciate Bank of Botetourt and First Bank who gave a donation to the town for the fireworks.

The Town Council of Fincastle deeply appreciates the donations for the fireworks and thanks the Fincastle Fire Department for all their help.

The town hopes those who attended this year will come back on July 4, 2023 to enjoy another wonderful fireworks display.

Local Eagle Scout learns of the organization’s importance to Botetourt

As an active Scout in Troop 333 working towards my Eagle Scout, I have learned that scouting in our community has seemed to only benefit the community. Scouting has showed and taught me true leadership is more than what meets the eyes from the countless Eagle Scout projects to the endless amount of service hours and also the affects it has on the members.

Scouts have a different view point on the efforts that go into planning and running an event. I think because of this, scouts have a better chance in their future and the future of the community.
