Bernard R. (Doc) Seay passed away June 16, 2022 after a long battle with cancer at 81. He was born May 4, 1941 in Buchanan to the late Viva Alexander Seay and William Jennings Seay.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Billy Seay of Bridgeport, Conn., and his sister, Mildred Seay Tibbetts of Charlottesville.
After graduating from Buchanan High School, Doc moved to Bridgeport, Conn., where he graduated from General Motors Technical School. His career spanned decades both mechanically and with car restoration. He always had and ran a body shop and enjoyed working on all sorts of cars and trucks. He had a talent for turning a rusted-out frame into the most beautiful vehicle on the road.
Doc was a resident of Englewood, Fla. and is survived by his wife, Colleen Seay; his sons, Ricky Seay and Randy Seay; stepson; Kyle Farrier; and his grandchildren, all of Florida. He is also survived by his nephews, nieces, and great-nieces and –nephews, along with an extended family and longtime friends from Connecticut, Virginia and Florida. We will truly miss his wit, straightforwardness and love.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
