Ted “TC” Carson Westmoreland, 84, of Troutville, went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 12, 2022.
Ted was born in Crockett, Va., March 17, 1938 and lived in Troutville for 15 years. He was the son of the late Garnett F. Westmoreland and the late Irene Shelton Westmoreland.
Ted was a truck driver for 45 years, starting working for his father and retired from St. Laurent Packaging Company. He was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church, enjoyed people and story-telling, and served in The United States Army.
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Wimmer. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary C. Gibson Westmoreland; son, Ted Carson (Amanda) Westmoreland II of Greenville, S.C.; daughter, Kimberly (James) Elliott of Moneta; step-daughter, Michelle (Mark) Gill of Troutville; grandchildren, Ella Westmoreland, Ted Carson Westmoreland III, and Casi West; brother, Garnett F. (Shirley) Westmoreland Jr. of Salem; and sister, Charlene (Richard) Lester of Salem.
A service celebrating Ted’s life was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 17 at Shenandoah Baptist Church, Roanoke with the Rev. Rob Gribbin officiating. Burial was in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the church one hour prior to the service Saturday.
