Benjamin Davis Gross, 17, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022.
Ben was born in Salem October 23, 2004 and lived in Botetourt all of his life. He was the son of Jonathan I. Gross and Dr. Pamela M. Melton. Ben was member of the Senior Class of James River High School, was an avid gamer, and loved his dogs, Bailey and Charlie.
In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by his sisters, Jessica M. Gross and Caroline H. Gross, both of Fincastle; grandparents, the Rev. Floyd Gross of Bedford, Ambassador Richard H. (Margaret) Melton of Alexandria, Va.; uncles and aunts, Timothy (Anne) Gross of Winston-Salem, N.C., Mary (Kenneth) Scruggs of Bedford, Martha Williams of Tampa, Fla., and Dr. Cathleen Melton (Dr. Larry Greenblatt) of Durham, N.C.
A celebration of Ben’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 6 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville with Ben Peyton officiating. Burial will be in Godwin Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family at the funeral home 2-8 p.m. Wednesday.
