The Town of Fincastle is currently looking for volunteers to help put up Christmas lights. Volunteers will help town staff check the bulbs and lay them out in the various areas of town.
“The light set ups take a lot of work, and a lot of people,” Fincastle Town Manager David Tickner stated in a recent email. “With that in mind, we could always use some volunteer help checking all the lights, and putting them out.”
Lights inspections – Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fincastle VFD.
Lights set out date – Friday, Nov. 18, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. until about 4:00 p.m.
We will meet at the Health Department. The Big Spring Garden Club will be providing lunch at the Presbyterian Church. The town will put up the lights that Friday with help from friends at Comcast/Xfinity. The day is spent outside, bubbling the strands, helping the Comcast workers in their bucket trucks, and making sure traffic can pass safely. Lunch will be provided.
