The James River indoor track team participated in the Wally Gilbert Invitational at Heritage High School in Lynchburg last weekend and had some strong performances at a big meet.
For the girls, Kelsey Firebaugh took a fourth place finish in the 55-meter dash and also was 11th in the 300. Kyleigh Mills was fourth in the 500 and in the field events Emma Francis took second in the shot put with a heave of 30’ 3.5”. Naveah VanBuren was fifth in the triple jump.
For the boys, Canaan Clark took a second in the shot put with a toss of 44’ 1”. Aiden Bartulis was llth in the 1,000 meters and Michael Jorgenson took 12th in the 1,600.
