Flower Festival in Buchanan

The Botetourt Farmers’ Market held its first Flower Festival at Buchanan Town Park last Saturday. The event showcased local flower farms and other local vendors selling items. On hand were local flower farms Sarah’s Petals, Moon Blossom Farm, Humble Hen Farms, Hillside Plants & Produce, and the Blue Ridge Flower Exchange. Other vendors included: C&F Farms, Mountain Thyme Honey, a caricature artist booth, authors Bruce and Elaine Ingram, By the Dozen cookies, Dangles by the Angles, Apothicaire D’Abeille, Crafts by Beth, Mary’s Palette, Blue Ridge Barn Quilts, a butterfly gardening station, Judy’s deco-mesh wreaths, and more.

Along with the weekly market on Saturdays at the Daleville Town Center, the market will hold its next big event, the annual Tomato Fest, on July 29 at Buchanan Town Park from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. featuring heirloom tomato tastings, live music by Trinity Tree, locally grown tomatoes for sale, a tomato sandwich contest, and more.
