Lord Botetourt High School once again played host to the annual 4-H and FFA Youth Expo last Friday in Daleville.
Botetourt’s 4-H and FFA welcomed attendees displaying information about their respective organizations and clubs. Guests had the chance to interact with the kids, learning more about 4-H’s and FFA’s impact on the community. Students performed demonstrations as they shared insight about their club’s activities.
“This year’s event was great, with so many 4-H Clubs in attendance,” Botetourt 4-H Extension Agent Tyler Painter said in a recent email. “We had eight clubs that set up informative displays, with some interactive activities as well. We appreciate the Alumni group for sponsoring this event each year which allows us to showcase our overall program to everyone in Botetourt County.”
The “Share the Fun” talent show portion of the Expo showcased the entertainment skills of 4-H members. This year’s participants included dance, vocal, variety, and instrumental acts. Participants included Hayanna Thompson (dance – red ribbon), Melody Bowyer (vocal – blue ribbon), Evelyn Milko (vocal – blue ribbon), Sophia Reiner (variety – blue ribbon), Sullivan Louque-Parrish (instrumental – red ribbon), Lilla Clark (instrumental – blue ribbon), and Alayna Chen (blue ribbon and overall winner).
