Botetourt County Public Schools, in collaboration with the Cook Center for Human Connection, offers access to free mental health resources for parents and families through ParentGuidance.org. While these resources have been available for some time, recent support from a local community organization brings renewed attention to them. Anita Aaron, President of the Rotary Club of Botetourt, expressed the club’s enthusiasm for supporting initiatives that positively impact the community. “The Rotary Club is dedicated to promoting health and education within our community, making this collaboration with Botetourt County Public Schools a natural fit for us,” Aaron remarked.
Recognizing the potential impact of mental health issues on students and families, Karen Turner, Supervisor of Special Education for the school division, encourages Botetourt parents to utilize these resources. ParentGuidance.org not only offers coaching services but also provides answers to common mental health questions from parents and grants access to over 50 on-demand courses developed by licensed therapists. Turner believes that by accessing these free resources, families can bring about positive changes in their lives.
