Open Studios-Botetourt and the Botetourt County Historical Society, Inc. have partnered for a day to paint (or sketch) the many sights of Historic Fincastle on Saturday, June 8 (rain date June 9). This is an open event for artists of any age or ability.

The Historical Society’s Museum, located at 26 East Main Street, Fincastle, will open at 9 a.m. to welcome artists as well as answer questions.  Artists will work at their chosen locations around town from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Paintings (or sketches) will be delivered back to the museum for a show-and-share reception from 3-4 p.m. The public is also invited to stop by to see the artists creating on site and to view their art at the reception.

The museum will be open all day for visitors to learn more about the history of Fincastle and Botetourt County. In addition, visitors can also visit the woodturning workshop of Willie Simmons at 329 Botetourt Road in Fincastle from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Artist registration fees are $5 for students and $10 for adults. For additional information and to find a registration form for Paint Fincastle, go to openstudiosbotetourt.com under Updates. Registration can be completed by mail or in person at the museum.
