George “Mike” “Mater” Michael Cox, 69, of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Smith Eubank, and step-father, Dick Eubank; sister, Mary Cox; half-brothers, Eddie, Tony, and Clarence Stinnett.
Mater loved to fish, be on the river, and his dog “Lil Bit.” He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, and games with his friends. He never met a stranger, talked to everyone with a smile on his face, and joy ride on his scooter.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and James Miller; grandson, Jake Compton and wife, Tiffany; great-granddaughter, Braylee Compton; sister, Nancy Deacon; and numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece, Ashton.
