When Botetourt County Historical Society, Inc. moved the museum to 26 East Main Street, Fincastle, a clock was needed. Ed and Betty Holt bought this clock at the Hamilton Outlet in Pennsylvania. They gave it to Ed’s parents, George and Betsy Holt, who used it in their kitchen at Hawthorne Hall. Now it hangs in the bookstore of the Botetourt Museum of History & Culture. It is a 31-day clock with Roman numerals and keeps history alive. We are all a collection of past memories and history has a way of connecting us through moments of time.
