The James River boys and girls both finished ninth in the Augusta Invitational cross country meet, hosted by Wilson Memorial High School last Saturday. The Turner Ashby boys and Waynesboro girls were team winners as 29 schools sent runners to the meet.
Aiden Bartilis had the best finish for James River with a 24th place in the boys race, followed closely by Braden Jones in 28th. Also scoring for the Knights were Mark Voight in 46th, Tristian Capo-Lopez in 59th and Barrett Pace in 81st.
For the girls Sarah Laughridge was first across the line with a 54th place finish. Also scoring were Kaylee Dunbar in 59th, Holly Weddle in 69th, Jordyn Ives in 70th and Jacey Walker in 73rd.
In the girls middle school race Maddie Davidson was second while Zoey Serrano took 19th.
The Knights are back in action this Saturday when they run at the Jackson River Sports Complex in a meet hosted by Alleghany.
