The James River golfers hosted Glenvar in a non-district match at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club Monday and the Knights shot their best round of the season. River shot a 329 to down the visiting Highlanders, who carded 335.
The Knights were led by sophomore Landon Bolling, who shot four-over-par 75. Sophomore Mason Gilliland shot a 78 and sophomore Mason Francis had a personal match best, shooting an 82. Freshmen Elizabeth Johnson shot her best as well with a 94.
“This is a great time for the team to be peaking,” said coach Donna Cox.
The Knights will compete in the sub-region match on Monday, September 30, at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club.
