Laura Marie Jones, 36, of Roanoke, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
Born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Botetourt County. Laura was a holder of many passions: art, music, history, literature, humor, movies, television, writing, social justice, college football, and things that were a little bit odd. Never one to forget a date, name, quote or reference, Laura was our “remember-er.” Her heart and relentless pursuit to always ensure those around her were cared for came from her unwavering faith in Jesus and His saving Grace.
Laura was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, JW Arrington; maternal grandmother, Sarah Jo Arrington; paternal grandfather, Joseph M. Jones; and precious cousin, Caroline Jones.
She is survived by paternal grandmother, Frances Jones; her loving parents, Dr. Lee and Sharon Jones; younger sisters, Catherine Clark (Taylor) and Anna Jones; beloved nephew, J.W. Clark; aunts, Cindy Strawn (Terry) and Sabrina Arrington; uncles, Alan Jones (Pam) and Donald Jones (Sheila); and dear cousins, Angela Sentell (Bob), and Robert Jones (Randie) and each of their children.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 21, at Oakey’s East Chapel, Roanoke. A time of visitation began at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. Afterward, a meal for the family was served at Bonsack Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Metropolitan Community Church, 5000 Carriage Drive, Roanoke, 24018. Condolences may be shared with her family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.
