The Botetourt Kiwanis Club presented $1,000 grants to James River and Lord Botetourt Key Clubs in September. The grants were based on the various community services performed by both clubs during the 2023-2024 school year, and are intended to encourage even greater Key Club efforts this year.
Both clubs’ services covered a number of areas, including supporting Angel Trees, local food banks, reaching out to elderly care facilities, and LB’s “Cookies for Kids’ Cancer” drive. These efforts reach far and wide throughout Botetourt County each year.
The International Kiwanis organization supports Key Clubs at the high school level around the country, and the Botetourt Kiwanis Club is proud of the two Key Clubs’ focus on serving the needs of both Botetourt’s children and older citizens.
