The Lord Botetourt volleyball team will host Franklin County and Staunton River in two Blue Ridge District volleyball matches this week. The Eagles were scheduled to come to Daleville on Tuesday and Staunton River is here Thursday.
Botetourt won two three-setters last week to remain undefeated on the season after a dozen matches, beginning with a dominating win over William Fleming. The Colonels scored just 14 points in the entire match as LB won 25-5, 25-4 and 25-5 in Roanoke. Becca Huddleston had eight kills and four aces and Emmy Sprouse served up nine aces.
On Thursday at Northside the Cavaliers won in three sets again, 25-7, 25-13 and 25-21. Alicia Holmes had 12 kills to lead LB while Brian Harvey had 11 digs and four aces and Erica Gergely had five aces and eight digs.
“We came out strong against Northside and were hitting the ball well,” said coach Samantha Wilkins. “In the third set we made some errors that put us behind but we were able to regroup and pull out the win in three.”
